Sooner or later you’re dead and with folks
dead already I guess you’d say sooner
but I’m ten years old, I’m going to die
myself before it’s all over with and
at church and Sunday School they try to pre
-pare me for that, for nothingness I think,
although eternal life is what they call
it, up in Heaven or down in Hell and
if I have their facts straight Heaven’s to be
preferred, there’s no future in Hell they say
but then again in Eternity how
can there be any future at all and
the truth is I don’t want to die, the pre
-sent is what matters most to me, why plan
for a future already in the past?
