When you’re dead you’re dead but not at our church
and Sunday School, even though they bury
you you live on or your soul does and your
body’s what they call material so
it hangs behind but your soul gets a new
body up in Heaven and maybe down
in Hell, too, the better for you to be
terrorized, tormented, and tortured with
but the good news is that you never die
again, just that once is plenty, or was,
then your troubles are over, in Heaven
anyway, though I told my Sunday School
teacher that I might get into mischief
since I bore easily but she said if
that’s so then I’ll go to Hell. Good enough.
